Abstract
Bolivia is the sixth country with the highest bird richness in the world. In the Pampa Tholar de las Vicuñas municipal protected area and its buffer zone (municipality of Villazón, department of Potosí) between 2017 and 2020 we recorded 33 bird species, mostly documented by photographs, of which, two species (Rhea pennata and Oreotrochilus adela) are categorized as Near Threatened (NT) and with decreasing populations. This work constitutes the first baseline for the protected area and its surroundings in Villazón.
