Abstract
Monitoring the use of bais by wildlife and the effects of human activity in and around bais has to date used four methods: overflights, foot surveys, direct and photographic observations of the animals, and acoustic monitoring. This section discusses the first two of these methods; direct observations, photos and acoustic monitoring are explained elsewhere in this volume (Chapters 10-13).
