Abstract
Because crocodilians are generally assumed to be obligate carnivores (Neill 1971. The Last of the Ruling Reptiles: Alligators, Crocodiles, and their Kin. Columbia University Press, New York. 486 pp.), frugivory among this group has been under-reported and received comparatively little attention in comparison to other reptiles (Platt et al. 2013. J. Zool. 291:87–99). Here, we report two observations of frugivory in A. mississippiensis at Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge (MINWR), Brevard County, Florida, USA (28.60282˚N, 80.66897˚W, WGS84).
