Abstract
Two Singapore house geckos (Gekko monarchus) died as the result of a disseminated gram-positive bacteremia. The presence of myriad gram-positive streptococci resulted in nearly complete effacement of normal tissue architecture. Bacteria were found in chains and produced a polysaccharide that formed thick capsules. This is the first report of this infection in Singapore house geckos and describes an uncommon presentation by a bacterial pathogen.
