Abstract
Alaska’s immense size and northerly position make it a critical region for breeding and migrating shorebirds and provides breeding habitat for more shorebird species than any other state in the U.S. The overall goal of this Alaska Shorebird Conservation Plan is to keep shorebirds and their habitats well distributed not only across the Alaska landscape, but also throughout regions used by these populations during other phases of their annual cycle. This is one of eleven regional plans associated with the U.S. Shorebird Conservation Plan.
