Abstract
Shrews and other insectivores are difficult to sample with traditional small mammal traps. During a study of mongooses and other mammalian carnivores in western Central African Republic, a collection of scats revealed an unusually high occurrence of shrews. From the recovered skull fragments, this study examines the structure of the shrew community in this region. It also describes a new species, Sylvisorex konganensis.
