Abstract
Bats are rarely common food item in the diets of mammals, with the exception of other bats. Although mammalian carnivores are assumed to be predators of bats, there has been little evidence of this in the literature and very little is known about predation of bats by carnivores in tropical Africa. This study documents four cases where bat remains were found in the scats of genets and mongooses in a central African rainforest.
