Abstract
Coyotes (Canis latrans) have colonized northeastern North America only within the past 10–80 yr. While heartworms, sarcoptic mange mites, canine distemper virus, and rabies virus are known to infect and cause clinical disease and mortality in coyotes in the northeast, no broad examination of occurrence of gastrointestinal parasites has been published. This study surveys coyote fecal samples in New York to identify coyote parasites in the northeast.
